Now, we all know that TLS is the cryptographic protocol that secures sensitive data in transport (and if you don’t, here’s a quick technical overview of SSL/TLS certificates ), but by itself, in certain situations, TLS is far from perfect. TLS Termination and Enabling HTTPS | Ambassador Enable Advanced TLS options. Ambassador Edge Stack exposes configuration for many more advanced options around TLS termination, origination, client certificate validation, and SNI support. See the full TLS reference for more information.
The cleartext Server Name Indication (SNI) extension in ClientHello messages, which leaks the target domain for a given connection, is perhaps the most sensitive information unencrypted in TLS 1.3.

Server Name Indication (SNI) was introduced in 2003 as an extension to the TLS 1.0 protocol to provide a graceful solution to this problem. The idea is very simple, the client just send the intended hostname to the server in the first data packet (ClientHello) of the TLS handshaking.
A compile-time OpenSSL library that supports the TLS SNI extension and "SHA-2" message digests. A compile-time DNS resolver library that supports DNSSEC. Postfix binaries built on an older system will not support DNSSEC even if deployed on a system with an updated resolver library. The "smtp_dns_support_level" must be set to "dnssec". TLS Support Overview. RabbitMQ has inbuilt support for TLS. This includes client connections and popular plugins, where applicable, such as Federation links. It is also possible to use TLS to encrypt inter-node connections in clusters. TLS SNI allows running multiple SSL certificates on a single IP address. SNI inserts the HTTP header in the SSL/TLS handshake so that the browser can be directed to the requested site. Almost 98% of the clients requesting HTTPS support SNI. SNI helps you save money as you don’t have to buy multiple IP addresses. Related Posts
